A Note from Our Small Team
As a small, rural shelter, our hearts are big, but our hands are few. Our daily priority is the direct care and enrichment of the animals in our shelter.
Because we operate with a limited staff, we are unable to provide phone updates or individual callbacks for every application received. Please know that we see and appreciate your interest!
We will reach out directly to the applicants selected for the next steps in the adoption process. Thank you for your patience and for supporting local rescue.
Dog Adoption Fees Vary:
- Puppies (under 6 months) start at $125.
- Adult dogs (over 6 months) start at $85.
BCHS staff can confirm the adoption fee for the specific puppy or dog you are interested in adopting.

Every dog adoption includes:
- Spay/Neuter
- Vaccinations (DAPP-L, bordetella and rabies, as appropriate for age)
- Heartworm testing (over 6 months of age)
- Deworming for intestinal parasites
- Brown County license tag
