VOLUNTEER

Whether you want to walk dogs, help us clean or play with kittens, we’d love to have you!

Brown County Humane Society’s volunteer program offer several opportunities for animal lovers. Our volunteers are the heartbeat of BCHS and each individual brings his or her own special touch!

As a volunteer, you can assist the staff in a variety of ways, including:

  • Daily cleaning and care of the facility
  • Offering much-needed socialization and love to our animals
  • Providing support at fundraising events
  • Animal transport to medical appointments or adoption events

Volunteers are needed at both of our locations. In order to volunteer at the Brown County Animal Shelter (dog shelter), you must be at least 18 years of age and attend an orientation. We do allow children of at least 14 years of age to accompany their parents.

At our Small Animal Adoption Center (cat shelter), we welcome volunteers at least 17 years of age. For our younger animal lovers, children of any age can volunteer with their parents to care for the cats and kittens.

You can submit a volunteer application online, or you can download and print the application.
